2025 Fall Classes
Classes through the Quilt Capital of Kansas
Classes continue for youth from 6th grade through adult and are now open for registration on the Quilters' Paradise website. Additional classes will be posted as they are scheduled, so be sure to check back. All classes will be held at the Lumberyard Arts Center, unless otherwise noted, as part of the Quilt Capital of Kansas partnership. All classes require advance enrollment through the Quilters' Paradise website or by contacting the shop directly. Classes with no enrollments three (3) days prior to class will be cancelled.

Quilting/Textile Open Studio
Every Wednesday from 10am to 3pm
Lumberyard Arts Center
Free Open Studio for Textile Arts at the Lumberyard Arts Center from 10am to 3pm on Wednesdays. The studio will be open to anyone wanting to work on quilting/sewing/textile/needlework projects. We've had people spinning fiber, crocheting, embroidering, quilting and more! All welcome! This time offers a great opportunity to finish up UFOs, get answers to questions about patterns, or just come enjoy stitching with friends. Sewing with friends is always more fun!

Maple Leaf Festival & Quilt Show are almost here!!!
The 52nd Annual Quilt Show will be open on Saturday, October 18 from 9 am to 6 pm as well as Sunday, October 19 from 10 am to 5 pm. The Quilt show is sponsored by the Maple Leaf Quilters Guild of Baldwin City.
Quilt entries from anyone in the community are welcome if the quilts haven't been in the show before. Please fill out the registration form available on the Maple Leaf Festival Quilt Show page or pick up a form at Quilters' Paradise.
There will be quilts for sale at the event.
Quilt entry forms are due by September 30 with a photo of the quilt. Quilts to be delivered to the Baldwin Intermediate Center on Friday, October 17 no later than 10:00 am. Pick up quilts on Sunday, October 19 at 5:30pm.
Holiday Turkey Orders Now Welcome We are accepting orders for Thanksgiving and Christmas turkeys, both heritage and white broad-breasted pasture-raised birds. They will be ready to pick up at the farm (1814 N 600 Rd, Baldwin City) the weekend before Thanksgiving--Saturday, November 22. Please text William at 785-393-4617 or Sharon at 785-766-4580 to reserve your turkey. This year we will have "turkey parts" again. We plan to have only enough cut up to fill the orders.Orders must be in by October 17 to ensure availablility.
How Many 10" Squares??? How many 10" squares does Sharon have in the container displayed at Quilters' Paradise! Stop by the shop and take a guess. The person with the closest answer will win a $5 gift certificate to Quilters' Paradise. Drawing to be held Saturday, November 1.
On the shop website we received the following comment asking if anyone would be interested in either or both of two quilting frames this person acquired at an auction. Please call the shop at 785-594-3477 to get the contact info of the person with the frames if interested. [Photo for interest--not sure this is what they are.] Comments/Questions: Good afternoon. I acquired a couple quilting frames at an auction I was working at a few months ago. Once I got them home, I realized just how much space they take up, and I realized that I am just not quite at that place in my life. I am very glad that I got them and that they didn't just end up in someone's fireplace. I would like to find someone who can use them, and thought that you might know of someone who can use them, or possibly a quilting group that is in need of them. I believe they both are Grace Start-Right Quilting Frames. Just a side note, I live north of Lawrence in Jefferson county (and I am a real human... ) Thank you for any help you can provide.
