Happy New Year!!!
This was certainly not the start to 2025 that we expected! During our extended break between Christmas and New Year's and beyond because of Mother Nature, our crew has been hard at work. The middle room where the Christmas fabrics and most of the notions live has had a makeover! We replaced ceiling tile, put a coat of finish on the floor, and regrouped a few things. The regrouping is continuing yet. Mostly, we have exhausted Sharon M and me [Sharon V].  We have found some interesting projects in sorting through stuff--a triangle log cabin jacket, a vest out of old blue jeans, some old knitting, tatting and cross stitch patterns that I never got to, and the pattern Mom used to make William's baby quilt!  It's been a real trip down memory lane and I've about had enough of it! Be sure to stop in to check out the new look.

Free Open Studio for Textile Arts at the Lumberyard Arts Center from 10am to 3pm on Wednesdays. The studio will be open to anyone wanting to work on quilting/sewing/textile/needlework projects. We've had people spinning fiber, crocheting, embroidering, quilting and more! All welcome! This time offers a great opportunity to finish up UFOs, get answers to questions about patterns, or just come enjoy stitching with friends. Sewing with friends is always more fun!

Refurbished Sewing Machines
Quilters' Paradise continues our partnership with Maxxima in Topeka for the purpose of providing refurbished pre-owned sewing machines to our customers at a reasonable price. Most of the machines are old enough that all the parts are metal. The machines have been cleaned, checked out, and adjusted by Charles McFall, who has a passion for these older, beautiful machines.
Machines currently in stock:
White Domestic Model 915:
Viking/Husqvarna Model 21E

Coming up:  Another opportunity to WIN a FREE refurbished machine!
To enter, come to Quilters' Paradise and fill out an entry form with your name and phone number. Enter as many times as you visit (one entry per visit)!
The next winner will be drawn on Saturday, January 25 for a Brother VX780!

Congratulations to Linda King for
winning the Elna Contessa in our December drawing!

2025 Block of the Month Alternative

Turn Your Scraps into Quilt Blocks

Through the years I have prepared patterns for 6" quilt blocks for a number of projects and Block of the Month programs. Starting January 2025, we will offer one of those 6" block patterns each month for $1.00. Just come in the store and ask to buy the BOM block pattern. You'll be on your own, using up your own scraps to make the blocks each month. You may choose a theme (i.e. batiks, Halloween, 30's, fall colors, Christmas, Stonehenge, blue & white, etc.) or more than one for multiple projects.

The pattern for February, 2025, is Tree

The pattern for January, 2025, is Rail Fence

Store your blocks in a safe place until you have enough to make a project.  Several years ago I designed a BOM quilt of baskets with different six-inch blocks in the center of each basket.  Six-inch blocks also make great centers for eight pointed stars or churn dash blocks.  Let your imagination go and have fun with this while you trim down your accumulation of smaller scraps.

For each block you bring to show us you may enter a drawing for a $25 gift certificate for basic machine quilting. We will draw at the end of each month.
