New 2022 Classes at Quilters' Paradise

our website

Welcome!

Who's Ready for Classes?!?

The following classes are now on the website where you can sign up online or call the shop to enroll. Full details, supply lists, and online enrollment can be found at the Quilters' Paradise Class Schedule or by clicking the link on each event below. Feel free to bring a sack lunch (refrigerator space available) so we can minimize the lunch break and keep stitching!

We are grateful for the ongoing collaboration with the Lumberyard Arts Center to help promote Baldwin City as the Quilt Capital of Kansas and to allow us to use their classroom/studio space for our classes. Be sure to check each listing as a few classes will still be held at Quilters' Paradise.

Similar to the UFO Busting classes we held a few years ago, the Open Quilting Studio will be a held monthly on select Wednesdays from 10am to 2pm in the classroom at the Lumberyard Arts Center. Great opportunity to finish up UFOs, get help answering questions about a pattern, or just come enjoy quilting with friends. Liz Granberg-Jerome will be there to share some tips and is always willing to assist as needed. Sewing with friends is more fun!

Beginning Rug Hooking with Leanne Dunworth
$40 plus kit
Saturday, March 19, 10am
Quilters' Paradise, 713 8th Street, Baldwin City

Flying Geese 6 Ways
$40
Wednesday, March 23, 10am-2pm
Lumberyard Arts Center Classroom
718 High Street, Baldwin City

As many quilters as there are, there may be as many different ways to make Flying Geese units, a common unit used in creating quilt tops. Whether you make them one at a time, four at a time, or by just stitching two half-square triangles together, the finished unit will look the same. Liz will teach you the six ways she's found. Take time to make a sample in each technique to see which one works best for you!

Triangle in a Square - Tennessee Waltz
$40
Wednesday, April 6, 10am-2pm
Lumberyard Arts Center Classroom
718 High Street, Baldwin City

Quilters' Paradise has chosen the Triangle in a Square or TIS ruler from Bloc Loc as their first ever Ruler of the Year. Often we buy a specialty ruler for a single quilt project and then it sits on the shelf. Let us help you find new and different ways to use some of those rulers. In 2022 Sharon and Laura are making sample quilts that feature the TIS ruler. Liz will teach how to use the TIS Bloc Loc ruler and share patterns to show you there are many ways to use a specialty ruler.

Binding Basics & Variations
$40
Wednesday, May 4, 10am-2pm
Lumberyard Arts Center Classroom
718 High Street, Baldwin City

Adding binding to a quilt can be a challenge, whether finishing by hand or machine. Getting those mitered corners and joining those ends can be tricky! Join Liz Granberg-Jerome to get tips and tricks from start to finish on binding your quilt.
