In-Person Classes!
At long last we are returning to in-person classes at Quilters' Paradise. We are pleased to announce we are celebrating the new partnership of Quilters' Paradise and the Lumberyard Arts Center whereby we will be able to hold larger classes in the LAC studio/classroom! Be sure to check each class to confirm location as some smaller classes will still be held at Quilters' Paradise. This class will guide you through assembling your blocks into a quilt top with or without sashing & cornerstones, borders, and more.One Block Wonder Art Quilt with Liz Granberg-JeromeNovember 3 & 17 from 10am to 4pmClass fee: $75Location: Lumberyard Arts CenterOne Block Wonder quilts look complicated, but are actually quite easy to make and each one is completely unique! Six repeats of one fabric are cut into strips and then sets of 60 degree triangles. Despite being a quilt full of hexagons, the assembly has NO Y-seams!
2021 Douglas County Free Fair
July 24-31, including pre-fair events beginning July 17
It’s a great event for all ages in Lawrence, Kansas.
Open Class exhibits: Entries to be brought to the Douglas County Fairgrounds Building 21 on Sunday, July 25 from 2pm to 5pm with no advance notice.
If you wish to enter your items online and avoid the extra time for in-person entry tag sign-up, a new Douglas County Free Fair online registration site can be used for a $4.00 online convenience fee per item. Deadline for online registration is July 20, 2021. Quilts still need to be delivered to the fairgrounds Sunday, July 25 between 2pm & 5pmThe 2021 Fair Book is now available online. The breakdown of categories for the quilts division can be found on pages 86-88.
The Open Class exhibits will be judged Monday morning at 8:00am
with hanging of the quilts immediately following.
Volunteers always welcome to assist in hanging the quilts.
Open Class exhibits are open Tuesday, July 27 from 3pm to 9pm
and will remain open Wednesday through Saturday, July 28-31 from 10am to 9pm
All exhibits will be released Sunday, August 1 between 8am and 10am
Baldwin City Community Quilting Bee
The community quilting project is ongoing with more opportunities to add a few or more than a few hand quilting stitches to this beautiful quilt at the Third Friday Artwalk events. Currently scheduled is July 16 from 5:30pm to 8:00pm at Sullivan Square. If the weather is too warm, the quilt will be moved inside the Lumberyard Arts Center where you can stitch in the cool. All experience levels welcome!

It's Michigan Blueberry Time Again!
Each year Quilters' Paradise orders 10 lb. boxes of freshly picked blueberries from Michigan.
Cost is $40 per 10 lb box.
Pre-order by July 11 by calling Sharon at 785-594-3477.
Blueberries will be delivered and ready to pick at the shop by July 23.
