This collaborative open studio sponsored by Quilters' Paradise and the Lumberyard Arts Center is open to beginners to advanced textile artists--all are welcome to come create. Bring your sewing machines, needlework supplies, and projects--we have the space and expertise! Consider it a weekly mini-retreat to come sew with friends. If you need help with a project, bring it along as we are happy to help you figure it out! Free for all.

In 2019, the Kansas Senate passed Resolution 1711 designating Baldwin City the Quilt Capital of Kansas for a multiplicity of reasons. Did you know, Baldwin City  has the oldest quilt show in the state of Kansas and one of the oldest running full-service quilt shops in the nation, Quilters' Paradise? Furthermore, Baldwin City's relationship with its international sister city, Riviersonderend, South Africa, is centered around the exchanging of quilts. Quilting is a time-honored intergenerational tradition that harnesses hand and machine technology to create, play and innovate. Visit Quilters' Paradise and the Lumberyard Arts Center. We are working together to bring you classes, workshops and other textile art experiences.
