Beginning Crochet with Becky Fender & Janet Anderson-Story
This class is for those who wish to learn (or relearn) how to crochet with yarn. No prior experience is necessary but patience and persistence are a must. We will learn about yarn weights, hook sizes and purposes, how to read a yarn wrapper, and practice basic crochet stitches. Soap holders/caddies and granny squares to make a bag are some of the projects we will practice.
Dates: Saturdays, February 7 & 21 AND March 7 & 21 from 1-3pm at the Lumberyard Arts Center
Some hooks and yarn will be available.
If you want to bring your own:
Size H (5 mm) and J (6 mm) crochet hooks
One skein #4 worsted weight acrylic yarn
Scissors
Sewing tape measure
For adults or older children (6th - 12th grades) new to or renewing their skills of crocheting.
This is the first of four 4-class series in crochet. Students may enter at the level desired but should be cautious about jumping too far ahead. If you know how to chain, but not how to make stitches, Beginning Crochet is the best place to start.
