Circle of Friends--a Triangle in a Square Quilt with Liz Granberg-Jerome

Circle of Friends is a fun quilt to make combining the 54-40 or Fight block with snowball blocks with applique hearts. When the 54-40 or Fight block is used in a two-block layout with such as this, it creates the illusion of curves without any curves being sewn in the quilt. Learn how to use the TIS Bloc Loc ruler or EZ Quilting Tri-Recs tools to make some spectacular new quilts!
Triangle in a Square, also known as a Tri-Rec or Spikey & Peak, is most known for its use in the 54-40 or Fight block. When this block is used in a two-block layout with, for example, a snowball block or Churn Dash that has triangles in the corners, it can create the illusion of curves without any curves being sewn in the quilt. The TIS unit can be made using a paper foundation, the two-piece tri/rec ruler set, or the TIS Loc Bloc ruler set. For this class we will be using the TIS Bloc Loc ruler--either the 3" or 4" finished. Other examples of quilts made with the 54-40 or Fight block will be shared in class.
