Window on the East--Attic Window Quilt with Liz Granberg-Jerome



Take a favorite panel and add dimensional strips to create your own unique attic window quilt. Using the Window on the East pattern, Liz will guide you through dividing your panel into sections and then add frames to create the 3D attic window effect. Detailed instruction on marking and sewing mitered corners included.

Class to be held at the Lumberyard Arts Center on Saturday, February 17 from 10:00am to 3:30pm.

Fabric List:
Window on the East pattern from Quilters' Paradise
One 24x44" to 36x44" panel as focus fabric--wonderful selection of Asian prints or novelty fabric panels are available at Quilters' Paradise, as well as help choosing your frame & sashing colors for good contrast.
Light frames: 1/2 yard
Medium frames: 3/4 yard
Sashing & dark borders: 5/8 yard
Optional printed borders: 1/4 yard

Supply list:

Rotary cutter and self-healing mat
Acrylic rulers recommend: 6 x 24", 12 x 12" square
Sewing scissors/snips
Marking tools: white ceramic/chalk for dark fabrics and/or blue water soluble for light fabrics
Pins and pincushion or container
Seam ripper
Neutral sewing thread to blend with fabric (light gray or cream blend well)
Sewing machine (bring instruction book and accessories)
Quarter inch foot and/or open toe foot for sewing machine
Iron and ironing mat or wool pad
Extension cord/power strip

Quilting and textile art classes are co-sponsored by Quilters' Paradise and the Lumberyard Arts Center as part of the Quilt Capital of Kansas programming.


Skill Level: Intermediate
Skill Details: Advanced Beginner/Intermediate friendly. Knowledge of basic sewing/quilting skills needed.
Materials Included: One cutting mat, iron and ironing mat available for use during class.
Instructor: Liz Granberg-Jerome
Instructor Bio: Liz Granberg-Jerome brings 15+ years of quilting experience, on top of 50+ years of sewing to the classroom. She works well with all levels of students, working with each student to ensure everyone in her class succeeds. While her passion lies with One Block Wonder 60 degree triangle quilts, she has taught a wide variety of classes for Quilters' Paradise since 2015.
