Hawaiian Hand Applique with Sharon

Join Sharon to learn to cut your own Hawaiian block design and begin the process to hand applique your unique motif to a background square. The process begins by folding your fabric and cutting your design out through the 8 layers--not unlike how we used to cut snowflakes from paper. Once your motif is cut, it will be placed and lightly glued onto the background fabric and you will be instructed in how to needle-turn applique it in place. Each person's motif will be unique as you learn a Hawaiian way of quilt making.
Class will be held Saturday, March 8 from 10am to 3pm at the Lumberyard Arts Center.
$10 Fabric kit with needle required from Quilters' Paradise.
Items to bring:
Sharp fabric scissors/dressmaker shears to cut out your folded motif through 8 layers.
Misc. hand sewing notions: snips, pins, etc.
Quilting and textile art classes are co-sponsored by Quilters' Paradise and the Lumberyard Arts Center as part of the Quilt Capital of Kansas programming.
