Beginning Foundation Paper Piecing with Liz Granberg-Jerome

Jump start your quilting to a new level by learning how to foundation paper piece! This technique allows you to create more complex blocks with shapes that aren't easily traditionally pieced. You'll get sharp points effortlessly! By learning the basics, you can then take on larger projects with knowledge and helpful tips.
Wednesday, February 26 from 1:00-4:00pm, Lumberyard Arts Center

You'll begin by making an 8" star block made up of four 4" matching units. This free pattern, offered by Carol Doak, provides you with a small project that is great to practice on. Learn how to place fabric on the paper, flip it over and sew from the paper side following the stitch lines. Once you've become familiar with the process, you'll have the basics needed to move on to more complex designs by Carol Doak and other designers and, eventually, to a Quiltworx, Jacqueline de Jonge, or LegitKits pattern.
