Introduction to Hawaiian Quilting with Laura



Quilting is believed to have been introduced to the Hawaiian Islands by missionaries from the United States. The Hawaiians developed their very own distinctive style of quilting. Laura will share with you the history of Hawaiian Quilting and some traditional Hawaiian patterns. You will have the opportunity to learn the technique used to make their amazing quilts.

The project will be a pillow top, approximately 22” x 22”. Fabric for the pillow top will be available for $12.50. You will need needle, thread, pins, sharp sewing shears, and scissors for thread snipping.

Class meets July 12, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Lumberyard Arts Center.
