Quilting 102--Sashing & Borders

Do you have blocks waiting to be assembled into a quilt top? Not sure how to choose a setting--with sashing or without or other options? Assembling blocks into a finished top is a whole separate process from making the blocks. In Quilting 102--Sashing & Borders, we will explore and consider a variety of options and get you started on assembling your blocks into a finished top. Bring your blocks from the Beginning Quilting class or other blocks you have waiting from other projects.

Topics and choices to be discussed include

  • Adding sashing strips and corner stones
  • One border or more
  • Optional layout ideas
    • Adding repetitive setting blocks
    • Using an on-point setting
  • How these parts and pieces go together to make the best result, and more!
We will begin with an overview of choices and a trip to Quilters' Paradise, if needed, to gather your sashing and/or border fabrics for quilt top assembly. Then you'll get started on your choice of assembly with guidance from teacher Liz Granberg-Jerome. Again, lots of tips & tricks included, plus bring your questions!
