After taking Liz's Scared Stitchless to Free Motion Quilt, you're ready to move on to the next step and start practicing more designs to use on your quilts. The RGA Design-Practice Panels Skillbuilder 1 is designed to do just that! Let's Stitch Past Fear and step up your free motion quilting skills by bringing an actual project to work on. Bring a table runner, wall hanging, or baby quilt and use stencils and other fills to finish your project. If you have a ruler foot, bring it along as there will be a few quilting rulers available to practice with to add yet another level to your free motion skills. An attic window quilt is made by splitting a favorite panel and add light, medium, and dark strips strategically to create the depth of a multi-pane window. Depending on fabric choice, the strips can be attached with mitered corners for a clean finish, or by using half-square triangles in the corners for an easy finish. Liz will guide you through dividing your panel into sections and then adding frames to create the 3D attic window effect. Wed., August 21 from 5:30 to 9pm at the Lumberyard Arts Center.
