Quilters’ Paradise Class Schedule

We continue to be grateful for the Quilt Capital of Kansas collaboration
between Quilters' Paradise and the Lumberyard Arts Center
that allows our classes to be held in the LAC classroom.
 

 


Meet our teachers:

Angie Spielman, a fairly new quilter, is sharing her newfound talents with area youth and adults alike.

Becky Fender who brings 30+ years of experience to her crochet classes.

Cheryl Travis is a talented crafter and quilter who enjoys sharing her passion with others.

Kathleen Thomas is a fabric landscape artist who has taught previously at the Lumberyard Arts Center.

Laura Davids, a talented quilter and maker, brings a range of different classes that feature making of various bags, tuffets, painted barn blocks, and more!

Liz Granberg-Jerome, a very creative and talented quilter with over 50 years of sewing experience, teaches a wide variety of classes at Quilters' Paradise. A few of her favorites that will be offered again are Beginning Quilting series, Scared Stitchless Introduction to Free Motion Quilting, and One Block Wonder and Hexified Panel Quilts. 

Sharon Vesecky, Quilters' Paradise owner and experienced quilter, offers classes on hand quilting, as well as various projects based on patterns in the shop.

Applique, Hand Embroidery


Create your own Fabric Landscape Art Piece with Kathleen Thomas. Saturday, March 22 from 9am to noon at the Lumberyard Arts Center

Cost: $ 45.00
Fusible Applique is a technique that is quite popular in patterns that include simple to complex motifs as part of the design. Learn about various fusible products and create a fun layered heart appliqued onto a courthouse steps background block. Wednesday, March 19 from 1-4pm at the Lumberyard Arts Center

Cost: $ 35.00
Join Jessica as she teaches you the Laura Heine Technique of creating a collage quilt. Saturday, February 1 from 9am to 3pm at the Lumberyard Arts Center

Cost: $ 70.00
Join Sharon to learn to cut your own Hawaiian block design and begin the process of hand applique. Class will be held Saturday, March 8 from 10am to 3pm at the Lumberyard Arts Center.
