Quilters’ Paradise Class Schedule

We continue to be grateful for the Quilt Capital of Kansas collaboration
between Quilters' Paradise and the Lumberyard Arts Center
that allows our classes to be held in the LAC classroom.
 

 


Meet our teachers:

Angie Spielman, a fairly new quilter, is sharing her newfound talents with area youth and adults alike.

Becky Fender who brings 30+ years of experience to her crochet classes.

Cheryl Travis is a talented crafter and quilter who enjoys sharing her passion with others.

Kathleen Thomas is a fabric landscape artist who has taught previously at the Lumberyard Arts Center.

Laura Davids, a talented quilter and maker, brings a range of different classes that feature making of various bags, tuffets, painted barn blocks, and more!

Liz Granberg-Jerome, a very creative and talented quilter with over 50 years of sewing experience, teaches a wide variety of classes at Quilters' Paradise. A few of her favorites that will be offered again are Beginning Quilting series, Scared Stitchless Introduction to Free Motion Quilting, and One Block Wonder and Hexified Panel Quilts. 

Sharon Vesecky, Quilters' Paradise owner and experienced quilter, offers classes on hand quilting, as well as various projects based on patterns in the shop.

Classes


Applique, Hand Embroidery


Join Sharon to learn the basics of hand applique. Dimensional elements that will be taught include stuffed berries, folded rosebuds, pillowslip applique, skinny stems, leaves, and ruching. Class will be held at the Lumberyard Arts Center on Wed., June 8 from 1-3pm.

Create your own Fabric Landscape Art Piece with Kathleen Thomas. Saturday, July 13 from 9am to noon at the Lumberyard Arts Center

Cost: $ 45.00
Twilling is a lovely surface embroidery stitch that can give dimension to any project. Done with a simple knotting technique done on a single stitch into the fabric, the results are more visible than traditional outline embroidery stitches. Learn this vintage technique with Cheryl Travis and Liz Granberg-Jerome. Wed., August 7, 6pm to 9pm at the Lumberyard Arts Center
