Quilters’ Paradise Class Schedule

We are excited to announce the return to in-person classes for 2021!
We are partnering with the Lumberyard Arts Center in Baldwin City
and thank them for use of their classroom for some classes.

Be sure to check where your class will be held before heading to the shop.

Our teachers:

Liz Granberg-Jerome, a very creative and talented quilter with over 50 years of sewing experience, teaches a wide variety of classes at Quilters' Paradise. A few of her favorites that will be offered again are Beginning Quilting--a series of six technique classes; Fusible Applique; One Block Wonder and Hexified Panel Quilts; and Introduction to Free Motion Quilting.

Laura Davids, a talented quilter and maker, brings a range of different classes that feature making of various bags, tuffets, painted barn blocks, and more!

Sharon Vesecky, Quilters' Paradise owner and experienced quilter, offers classes on hand quilting, as well as various projects based on patterns in the shop.

More information and supply lists are available at Quilters’ Paradise - 785-594-3477 or 888-256-9981.

Classes

Who doesn't love those giant blue IKEA bags? This version has the same hauling capacity but is so much prettier (and sturdier too)! You pick the size you want LARGE (original)-medium-small. You will construct the bag during class and leave with a finished NYBBB!

Cost: $ 57.00
Create this darling Tuffet in two 3-hour sessions with Laura. At the first class you will be sewing and learning the technique to make the foundation pieced Tuffet cover. Your homework is to complete your tuffet cover before the second class. At Class 2 we will put it all together. Tuffets can be whimsical, elegant, scrappy, or made to match any room. Every little girl needs a Tuffet, even grown up ones!

Cost: $ 195.00
Join Sharon Vesecky to learn the technique of hand quilting.

Cost: $ 20.00
Brush up on basic quilting skills as you make this great quilt! Jelly Roll Junction uses a jelly roll (~42 2.5" strips) to make a wonderful quilt that looks complicated but is actually very easy to assemble! It's not your typical jelly roll race... far from it! Just add borders to make it throw or bed size.

Cost: $ 45.00 - $ 58.00
One Block Wonder quilts look complicated, but are actually quite easy to make and each one is completely unique! Six repeats of one fabric are cut into strips and then sets of 60 degree triangles. Despite being a quilt full of hexagons, the assembly has NO Y-seams!

Cost: $ 45.00 - $ 57.00
Quilting Open Studio at the Lumberyard Arts Center from 10am to 2pm on select Wednesdays. Bring your machine and a project to work on. Great opportunity to finish up UFOs, get help with answers to questions about a pattern, or just come enjoy quilting with friends. Liz Granberg-Jerome will be there to share some tips and is always willing to assist as needed. Sewing with friends is more fun!

Cost: $ 10.00
